SAM LAMB PHOTO AND BIO PAGE
NAME--------Sam Lamb

TYPE OF OCCUPATION--------Program
Management, US Army Fixed Wing Project
Office; Retired Army Officer and Aviator
(Helicopter, Turbine Prop and Jet aircraft ratings)

HOW LONG BEEN IN THE HOBBY--------I was
introduced to model building and control line
airplanes when I was 10-12 years old.  I flew
nitro Ugly Sticks and a Falcon 56 during my first
assignment in Alaska in the late 80s.  I took a
long break from the hobby during the rest of my
military career and reentered the hobby in 2012
after retiring from the Army in 2008.

HOW YOU GOT STARTED IN R/C--------My dad is
a lifelong scale model builder and he inspired
me to pursue a career in the Army and sparked
my interest in model aircraft.

PLANES  YOU ENJOY  ARF - BUILD UP –
SCRATCH OR  ELECTRIC--------My first kits
were balsa (Curtis Robin, Falcon 56, Stenson
Gullwing), but since returning to the hobby I’ve
focused on RTF foam airplanes and BNF micro
helicopters.

YOUR FAVORITE PLANE TO FLY--------My
Horizon Hobby T-28 Trojan BNF has been a
great plane to hone my skills.  It’s a fantastic
electric flier and a nice balance of stability and
aerobatics.

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP OTHERS WITH
IN THE R/C HOBBY--------I’m quickly learning all
that I can about electric aircraft and helicopters.  I
have a great deal of experience in RW and FW
aviation and in the aviation industry.
